FRIENDS - PETS

Friends are pets collected by players in Friend Machines, Gifts, or by buying them directly from a limited-time shop. When equipped, friends will appear behind the player in a semi-circle formation and will provide XP and Ring bonuses. Unlike players, friends can't level up when XP is collected via Chaos Orbs, Sky Rings, or Friend Machines; they now level up with the Upgrade Machine found in specific Zones. Additionally, players can evolve their pets by collecting 5 of the same type maxing each of their levels, and visiting a Fusion Machine. Evolution multiplies the benefits of the friends specified by and keeps the XP and level of the specific evolved friend.

Changes[]

As of the Sonic Shock update, friend XP gain is no longer affected by World multipliers nor multipliers or other Chao/Trails. The maximum level for all pets is now 25 instead of 99. Typically, only three pets can be equipped, but this can be increased to a maximum of 5 with the +2 Pet Slots gamepass.

As of the Version 2.2 update, everyone gained the ability to lock every Friend in their inventory, allowing for the easy deletion of unwanted Friends with no risk at all!

As of the Release Shadow update, everyone gained 40 extra inventory spaces and the menu for the screen was updated

As of the Sailor Tails Re-run update, everyone gained 20 extra inventory spaces, as well as the new multi-select feature, allowing for easy inventory management!

For the Legendary Spinner Ver. 2, a total of 180 inventory spaces were given out

The Chao School update gave out 50 free inventory spaces, and the 2 Years Running event provided the ability to Hide Friends! Previous updates have also introduced similar quality-of-life changes, like keeping the design of base Fast Friends, hiding particles, and more for a smoother experience!

How chao used to work:
